Norton Priory, Cheshire, England. “Tree of Life” gate to the Walled Garden.
The Walled Garden was built by the Brooke family at Norton Priory between 1757 and 1770. The property was owned by the Brooke family for 400 years, but fell into disrepair when the Brookes left. The 2-1/2 acre garden was restored in 1980 to its original grandeur and now features an orchard, a vegetable garden and a rose garden.
“This Vespa scooter is the work of Portuguese craftsman Carlos Alberto, who “managed to fashion one from laminated hardwood. The result is stunningly beautiful. The little scooter is based on an original Vespa which had fallen into complete disrepair, but using long-tested woodcraft techniques a flowing new body was constructed for the runabout. The main spine of the bike is fashioned from steam bent and laminated veneers upon which very nicely carved body work hangs. Even the package tray and seat are made from wood.” [via jalopnik]
